The PayU DStv Connect ID Link Campaign Offer Rules
  1. This Campaign is promoted by PayU Payment Solutions Proprietary Limited, an online payment service provider incorporated under the laws of South Africa (registration number 2009/017393/07) (“PayU”, “us”, “we” or “our”), in collaboration MultiChoice Africa Proprietary Limited (“MultiChoice”) in respect of its DStv Connect ID, the key to unlocking the digital world of DStv and keeping users connected to all the spectacular online entertainment offered anytime, anywhere.  
  2. This Campaign is available to South African residents who are at least 18 years old or older. 
  3. If you use your PayU Wallet for the first time in accordance with these Rules, you will be eligible to receive a reward of PayU Credits (as defined in the PayU User Agreement referred to in paragraph 14 below) which PayU will top up into your PayU Wallet Balance (“Reward”). 
  4. The Campaign commences on 8 March 2016 shall continue for a period of three (3) months (“Campaign Period”). 
  5. Each Reward is valued at an amount equal to R35 at the time that the user activates their PayU Wallet which is linked to their DStv Connect ID.  The Reward is safely stored as credit in your PayU Wallet.
  6. To qualify for your Reward, you will be required to have a DStv Connect ID (which you would be required to sign up for with MultiChoice by following the prompts provided by MultiChoice and a PayU Wallet profile which is linked to your DStv Connect ID).  Then to complete your PayU Wallet profile you can either:
    1. Click on the DStv Connect ID logo on the top right hand side of the PayU consumer portal which is accessible at https://consumerportal.payu.co.za/ ; or
    2. login into your PayU Wallet via the PayU payment page (which you will be automatically re-directed to when you select to pay by credit card on your payment page which is displayed by the relevant DStv Connect ID enabled online store).
  7. To complete your PayU Wallet profile with us, you will be required to set up your PIN and security question.  When you have successfully finished these steps, your PayU Wallet dashboard will open and you will see your Reward reflecting in your PayU Wallet Balance.
  8. To spend your Reward, follow the prompts to log into with your PayU Wallet using your PayU Wallet credentials or login using your DStv Connect ID (also known as DStv login credentials) and choose to pay with your PayU Wallet Balance as your selected payment option.
  9. You must complete all the steps in order to receive and access your Reward.   For example, if you have checked “yes” to sign up and link your Connect ID to your PayU Wallet during the Campaign Period, but you have not finished the steps to complete your PayU Wallet profile with PayU, you will not have access to your Reward. PayU will however take all reasonable steps to notify you if you have not completed your PayU Wallet profile, either by sending you either an email or an SMS message to your mobile number (depending on what credentials you provided to PayU when you agreed to sign up for the PayU Wallet).
  10. Provided you have a DStv Connect ID and you have signed up for a PayU Wallet during the Campaign Period in accordance with these Rules, you understand that you only have two (2) months from the date of  sign up to successfully complete your PayU Wallet profile linked to your DStv Connect ID.  You will not be eligible to receive the Reward if you fail to complete your PayU Wallet profile within two (2) months after PayU have sent you a registration to PayU welcome email.  You understand and acknowledge that you will not have any claim against PayU or MultiChoice if you fail to complete the necessary steps to complete your PayU Wallet profile.

  12. Each user is entitled to one Reward only. We reserve the right to disqualify any user from participating in the Campaign who we reasonably believe has created multiple PayU Wallet accounts, DStv Connect IDs or utilising multiple SIM cards for the purpose of obtaining multiple Rewards.
  13. You are responsible for the cost (if any) associated with downloading and/or accessing your Reward from your computer or mobile device. 
  14. If you qualify and access a Reward in accordance with these Rules, it is your responsibility to ensure that you understand and read the PayU Wallet User Agreement.
  15.  PayU shall use and take care of any personal information you supply to it as described in  Privacy Policy and in accordance with data protection legislation. You consent to PayU contacting you for the purposes of notifying you to complete your PayU Wallet profile for the purposes of accessing your Reward and for our administration and marketing purposes.  If you want to know more about how MultiChoice, (DStv) takes care of your personal information, please visit their Privacy Policy.
  16. PayU or MultiChoice may pass your personal information to carefully selected service providers and/or partners and/or otherwise engage third party service providers solely in connection with this Campaign and where the third party is acting on MultiChoice’s or PayU’s behalf for the purposes of administering this Campaign and/or as otherwise required by law.  MultiChoice or PayU may send you more information about MultiChoice’s or PayU’s products or services relating to your PayU Wallet but you can opt out from receiving any information from PayU or MultiChoice at any time.  We do not sell your personal information.
  17. As far as the law allows, PayU,  MultiChoice, PayU’s or MultiChoice’s respective affiliates, members, nor the directors, officers, employees or agents of the aforementioned, shall be liable for any loss (including data) or damage, whether direct, indirect, consequential or otherwise, arising from any cause whatsoever which may be suffered as a result of this Campaign.  Nothing in these Rules shall exclude the liability of PayU under law for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for death or personal injury resulting from its negligence.

    This paragraph 17 limits and excludes obligations, liabilities and legal responsibilities which PayU or MultiChoice Africa Proprietary Limited may have towards you, including by way of example, any disappointment incurred or suffered by you as a result of creating your PayU Wallet for the purposes of accessing your Reward, or any failure or delay or any loss incurred by you as result of your failure to properly install any hardware and/or software associated in and to your PayU Wallet and your access to Connect ID or MultiChoice services.This paragraph also limits and excludes your rights and remedies against PayU, MultiChoice Africa Proprietary Limited and other persons.

  18. PayU and MultiChoice reserve the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, this Campaign with or without prior notice due to reasons outside its reasonable control (including, without limitation, in the case of anticipated, suspected or actual fraud). The decision of PayU and MultiChoice in all matters relating to the Campaign is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
  19. Neither PayU nor MultiChoice shall be liable for any failure to comply with its obligations relating to this Campaign where the failure is caused by something outside its reasonable control. You understand and agree that your use of your DStv Connect ID details is subject to the terms and conditions provided by MultiChoice Africa Proprietary Limited and not PayU.
  20. The Reward is non-exchangeable and is not redeemable for cash or other monetary value. 
  21. If the Campaign is regulated by the Consumer Protection Act, 68 of 2008, it is not intended that any provision of these Rules contravenes any provision of the Consumer Protection Act and therefore all provisions of these Rules must be treated as being qualified, if necessary, to ensure that the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act are complied with.
  22. MultiChoice and PayU reserve the right to extend, withdraw, or shorten the duration of the Campaign or to amend these Rules by notifying users on either/or the MultiChoice or PayU website. 
  23. The Campaign and these Rules will be governed by the laws of South Africa and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the South African Courts.
